ACTIV8 User Guide
for STC applications

ACTIV8 Installation

1. Download and install the app on your device

  • Step 1 of 4

    Find the app on the Apple or Android app stores, download and install on your phone — its FREE!

  • Step 2 of 4

    Open the app on your phone. Tap “Click to Register an account”

  • Step 3 of 4

    Type in your company’s ABN number. The app will look up your company name, then tap Next .

  • Step 4 of 4

    Type in your company’s address. The address lookup will suggest matching addresses. If the app cannot find your address, enter address manually.

  • Continue

    Proceed to register yourself.

    Or proceed to register your tradespeople.

ACTIV8 Registration

2. Registration: where you and the company are the same

  • Step 1 of 4

    Enter your company’s contact details and Plumbing Licence number, then tap Next.

  • Step 2 of 4

    Make sure that the details that are displayed here are correct, then tap Next.

  • Step 3 of 4

    In this section you can choose if you personally are the plumbing licence holder.

    If so, choose Yes and type in your details, then tap Submit.

  • Step 4 of 4

    All done!

    You will now be automatically logged into Express ACTIV8.

  • Continue

    Proceed to login.

ACTIV8 Registration

3. Registration: where your tradespeople are registering under your ABN

  • Step 1 of 2

    If you have tradespeople working for you, they will register under your ABN. This will ensure that all documents pertaining to your business will only be received by you.

    Tap Next to continue.

  • Step 2 of 2

    Once the ABN has been recognised, your employee tradespeople will be directed to the individual registration page. This will ensure an Employer–Employee connection is established.

    Enter their details and tap Submit.

  • Continue

    Proceed to login.

ACTIV8 Operation

4. First login to do a job

  • Authentication

    The first time that you login to do a job, you will be prompted to take a selfie and a photo of your plumbing licence.

    This is required by the relevant government departments in order to identify you on applications created by the app.

    Failure to upload these two pictures will prevent you from proceeding.

    The app may ask for permission to use the camera - allow the app to TAKE IMAGES.

  • Step 2 of 5

    You’ll need to take a photo of yourself and a photo of your plumbing licence. Tap the camera icon to take each photo.

  • Step 3 of 5

    Use your phone camera to take a photo of yourself…

  • Step 4 of 5

    …and then of your plumbing licence - a plain background works best.

  • Step 5 of 5

    Tap Submit and wait for your images to upload.

  • Continue

    Proceed to activation.

STC Activation

5. STC activation — applicable for all states

  • Step 1 of 14

    You are now ready to activate a system.

    Tap the Activate button to begin the process.

  • Step 2 of 14

    Type in the site address for the installation. The lookup function will assist in finding the address. If it cannot be found, type the address into the fields below.

    Check the details entered, then tap Begin activation to continue.

  • Step 3 of 14

    Press START to commence the activation.

  • Step 4 of 14

    Answer a few simple questions about the installation site then tap Next.

  • Step 5 of 14

    Use the app to take a picture of the system’s compliance plate. Make sure that you are close to the compliance plate and not at an angle so the barcode can be automatically read by the camera.

    Tap Next to continue.

  • Step 6 of 14

    Take a selfie with the new system visible in the photo.

  • Step 7 of 14

    Take a photo of the new system with all the pipework connected.

  • Step 8 of 14

    Take a pic of the old hot water system that has been removed.

  • Step 9 of 14

    Take a photo of the front of the property.

  • Step 10 of 14

    Choose if you are the Plumbing Licence holder. This will ensure that only you will receive any back up documentation.

    Read the declaration and tap Accept.

    Sign the application under your selfie, then tap Next to continue.

  • Step 12 of 14

    On the heat pump control screen, press TIMER and BOOST buttons together and hold for at least 10 seconds.

    A 4-digit code will appear on the screen.

    Now go back to the ACTIV8 app on your phone to continue….

    * Older model screen shown. Holding TIMER and BOOST is not applicable to HP Plus models.

  • Step 13 of 14

    On your phone app, enter the 4-digit code shown on the heat pump control screen and press GET ACTIVATION CODE.

    Go back to the heat pump control screen to continue.

  • Step 14 of 14

    On the heat pump control screen, press the ON/OFF button and the first digit will flash.

    Use the + and – keys to enter the first number of your activation code.

    Press SET to store the number and advance to the next.

    Repeat until all numbers have been entered and the system will start.

  • Activated

    All done! The system will now begin producing piping hot water for your whole pack.
